The Head of the MPC, Zhandilda Zhakupov, took part in the Global Mediation Summit organized by the International Organization for Mediation (China). Representatives from 41 countries attended the Summit, where significant attention was given to the Singapore Convention on Mediation, which Kazakhstan has signed and ratified. Mediation is gaining momentum at the global level. Kazakhstan has not signed the Convention on the Establishment of the International Organization, but this issue is under the control of the authorized state body, the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. We remind you that this is currently the only international organization in the field of mediation, established in May 2025. The Head of the MPC, Zh. Zhakupov, has been cooperating closely on this issue with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China since 2025. However, he was unable to participate personally in the Convention signing ceremony last year, as participation is the exclusive prerogative of the state under the Convention, and Kazakhstan, like other Central Asian countries, refrained from joining this organization. Among the CIS countries, currently only Belarus is a member of the international organization for mediation.
