On February 24–25, 2026, a series of working visits by the international delegation of the Association of Mediators of the Turkic World (TDAB) took place in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The international TDAB delegation included heads of mediator organizations and mediators from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Türkiye. The purpose of these visits was to exchange experience, strengthen cooperation, and develop partnerships in the field of mediation. On February 24, the delegation was received by Mr. Bertan Özerdağa, Chairman of the Supreme Court of Northern Cyprus, Mr. Salper Altıncıkı, Attorney General of Northern Cyprus, and Mr. Hasan Esendağlı, Chairman of the Cyprus Bar Association. During these meetings, members of the delegation shared their experience in mediation, while representatives of the Cypriot side expressed particular interest in criminal mediation. On the same day, the TDAB delegation was received at his residence by the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Mr. Tufan Erhürman. At this meeting, speeches were delivered by TDAB Chairman Yakup Erikeli (Türkiye), Head of the International Mediation Center Zhandilda Zhakupov (Kazakhstan), as well as mediators from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The day concluded with an official dinner hosted by the Ombudsman of the TRNC, Ms. İlkan Varol. On February 25, the TDAB delegation visited the Office of the Ombudsman of the TRNC, Ms. İlkan Varol. During the meeting, issues of cooperation regarding the draft law on mediation currently being developed in the TRNC were discussed. Later that day, the delegation visited Cyprus Aydın University, where an international conference on mediation was held and a guest lecture for students was delivered. The visit concluded with a farewell dinner organized by Aydın University.
