On November 11, 2024, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Law J.A. Kegembayeva, together with 2nd year students of the Faculty of Law, visited the Republican public Organization "International Legal Center — Mediation Center". The event was held as part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 5 — "Gender equality". The visitors were met by Zhandilda Azhigalievich Zhakupov, the head of the Center, an international-class mediator coach. He conducted an introductory conversation for students, revealing the main tasks and goals of mediation procedures, types of negotiation strategies and interaction of participants in various conflict situations. Special attention was paid to the fact that both men and women work successfully in the field of mediation, demonstrating that this difficult profession, which requires high emotional stability, an understanding of human psychology and the ability to find legal compromises, provides equal opportunities for professional growth.
The students noted the high professionalism and experience of the lecturer, emphasizing the importance and usefulness of the event for their future legal practice. Visiting the Mediation Center allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of peaceful dispute resolution and the role of mediators in modern society.
