The Georgian Bar Association held a meeting with mediators representing Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan

The meeting was attended by Yakup Erikel, Chairman of the Board of the Arab-Turkish Peace Association, Nadir Adilov, Deputy Chairmen of the Board, Chairman of the Mediation Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Zhandilda Yakupova, Director General of the Mediation Association of Kazakhstan, Irakli Kandashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Mediation Association, and Javid Huseynli, Adviser to the Chairman of the Board, and other representatives of the Bar Association.
During the meeting, Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association David Asatiani informed about the current state of the institution of advocacy in the country, the structure of legal regulation and achievements in the legal system related to mediation. Following this, the parties had a broad exchange of views on the development of mediation institutions, the applicable legislative framework, practical experience and field of activity.
Representatives of each country shared the experience of their countries in the field of mediation, discussed strategies and prospects aimed at more effective and efficient use of the mediation mechanism. The main focus was on the wider dissemination of mediation at the regional level, strengthening the international exchange of experience and improving the activities of mediation institutions.
At the end of the meeting, the participants stressed the importance of developing mutual cooperation and agreed to continue initiatives to deepen institutional cooperation in the field of joint projects, exchange of experience and mediation in the future.
